SALTMARSH 75 - 6th & 7th October 2018

The 5th Saltmarsh75 took place on the 7&8 October 2017.  Results are now live with thanks to Race-Tek our timing partners.

Starting at South Woodham Ferrers, competitors follow the northern bank of River Crouch until it meets the North Sea, before turning left through the remote Dengie Marshes and onwards to Bradwell-on-Sea at the mouth of the Blackwater Estuary. An overnight stop at Steeple will offer brief respite until the morning when the participants will cover the remaining 37 miles through the historical riverside town of Maldon then towards Tollesbury. The final sting in the tail of the challenge is the 5 miles loop around the edge of RSPB Old Hall Marshes nature reserve, finishing at the hamlet of Salcott-cum-Virley.

There are several ways you can compete in the Saltmarsh75. You can enter as an individual competitor, taking on the full 75 miles over two days. Or you can take on 'just' one day, which is still completing an ultra marathon. Brand new to this year, you can enter as a duo and tackle a day each. If you would like to share the experience, how about entering as a relay team? Although you can easily sign up to the Saltmarsh75 online, completing the course is the real challenge. Over two days, you will run or walk the entire saltmarsh coast of the Maldon District. Experience the isolation of some of the most remote marshland in England, from sunrise to sunset.
